This was a project for my Typography 2 class. We were told initially to start with creating a Spotify/Apple Music playlist. We needed it to have a theme overall, it couldn’t just be a collection of random songs. My initial idea was to create a playlist of “Dad Rock” from the seventies. I was on a real Jim Croce and Steely Dan kick and its right where my mind went.  

After I created the playlist I realized that I wanted my theme to be a bit deeper than just “Dad Rock” I liked the vibe of the music together but I didn’t want to just go with that as the theme. As I was doing some research I found a quote by Tom Waits that initially became the theme: 

“Don’t plant your bad days. They grow into weeks. The weeks grow into months. Before you know it, you got yourself a bad year. Take it from me – choke those little bad days. Choke em’ down to nothing.”
